Meet Elizabeth Hopewell

As an Early Childhood Education college major, mom, and former foster parent, Elizabeth has the training and life experiences to accurately and emotionally capture the dramatic struggles of children in foster care.

Elizabeth Hopewell grew up in the Midwest where she always dreamed of being an author.  She had many happy times reading, writing, playing piano and singing, riding her bike, and spending time with loved ones.  At a young age, she and her family helped care for two young boys in foster care.

After college, marriage, and having children of her own, Elizabeth and her family opened their home to help children in foster care.  The inspiration for Sammy’s Journey Home came from her own experiences as a foster mother.  Elizabeth wanted to use her gift of writing to encourage children who have been through foster care to know that they are loved, they are valued, and they are important.  Elizabeth still thinks of and prays for the little ones who once shared her home.

Elizabeth, her husband, and their children live in a small town where they enjoy family dinners, outside adventures, and a whole lot of love.

I just want to share the love of God—the same love that has so deeply touched my heart—with everyone who is searching for hope and purpose.
